In Oak class we make learning fun, exciting, meaningful and memorable.
Oak class is made up of year 3 and 4 children and are taught by Mrs Harrison.
This term our topic will be Ancient Egypt and some children were aleady excited before we started! We are taking a trip to the Bristish Museum, where we will be looking at lots of aspects of the topic using real artefacts including the famous Rosetta Stone. In class, we will be looking at daily life, the importance of artefacts, tombs and pyramids and Tutankhamen. We will also be looking at the River Nile, its geographical features and the impact it has had on the area both in ancient times and today.
Homework is set on a Friday and is due in on the following Thursday. Homework will link to learning from the week any any subject. We encourage you to hear your child read regularly and help develop their understanding of the text by questioning at least three times a week. Home reading books are changed daily if the reading record is signed to say it is finished.
PE days for Oak Class are Tuesday and Thursday. However, please make sure your child has their red shorts, plimsolls/trainers and white polo shirt in everyday as other instances may arise where it may be needed.
We will be taking part in swimming lessons this term at Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre, Leighton Buzzard. The lessons will take place on Wednesday mornings and we will be travelling to and from the centre by coach.
